- Yukgeori Traditional Market Yukgeori Market is the representative traditional market of Cheongju. People can buy farming products from rural areas and various industrial products. The market is open even in early hours in the morning (Dokaebi Market) and local agricultural products are available. The market began as Cheongju Market near Musimcheon Embankment during the Joseon Dynasty. Since 1973, the market has been called Yukgeori Market. The market has 1,600 shops and about 4,000 merchants and is 99,000㎡wide. A small local market is open every five days on days ending with a 2 or 7. - Munam Eco Park The 210,000㎡area is comprised of a family park where families can enjoy picnics a well-being park where visitors can play Jokgu, basketball, and volleyball, and an ecological park with a culture and eco trail, an ecological garden, and a silver grass field. Its main facilities include a venue for family picnics, a barbecue area, an outdoor camping site, resting shelters, and Munam Madang (Fall). Visitors can feel and experience nature in an environmental experience play area, the sculpture park, a wetland eco-park, an eco observation deck, a culture and eco trail, a flower garden, and an arboretum. In addition, they can use sports facilities such as basketball courts, jogging tracks, and foot volleyball fields or head to the healthy forest experience zone and the themed well-being forest. - Cheongnamdae Presidential Villa Located in Daecheonghoban, Cheongnamdae has been a popular tourist attraction covered with the traces of modern history since 2003, when it was opened to the general public. For the past 20 years, it served as a place where five successive Presidents could rest or make political plans in a natural environment. - Seongan-gil Seongan-gil in downtown Choengju is one of the busiest streets in Korea, like Myeong-dong in Seoul. The street is studded with the latest fashion items. - Cheongju Land Cheongju Land in Myeongam-ro, Uamsan Mountain of Cheongju is a resting place that delivers hopes and dreams to children. - Cheongjuhyanggyo Confucian School Cheongjuhyanggyo Confucian School, located at the southeastern foot of Uamsan Mountain, was a representative educational institute of Cheongju during the Joseon Dynasty. It is said that the school was founded during the reign of King Taejo. In the 26th year of King Sejong’s (1446) reign, the king visited Chojeong and granted books to Cheongjuhyanggyo Confucian School. In the 10th year of King Sejo’s (1464) reign, the king himself took part in a ceremony at the school, which was the greatest Hyanggyo Confucian School in Sannam. Cheongjuhyanggyo Confucian School was moved to where it is now in the 9th year of King Sukjong’s (1683) reign.
