The market began as Cheongju Market near Musimcheon Embankment during the Joseon Dynasty. Since 1973, the market has been called Yukgeori Market. The market has 1,600 shops and about 4,000 merchants and is 99,000㎡wide. A small local market is open every five days on days ending with a 2 or 7. - Seongan-gil Seongan-gil in downtown Choengju is one of the busiest streets in Korea, like Myeong-dong in Seoul. The street is studded with the latest fashion items. The museum shows Korea’s early printing culture and the excellence of Jikji by displaying the development of Korea’s printing culture according to time periods.
