Yukgeori market

Yukgeori Market is the representative traditional market of Cheongju. People can buy farming products from rural areas and various industrial products. The market is open even in early hours in the morning (Dokaebi Market) and local agricultural products are available. The market began as Cheongju Market near Musimcheon Embankment during the Joseon Dynasty. Since 1973, the market has been called Yukgeori Market. The market has 1,600 shops and about 4,000 merchants and is 99,000㎡wide. A small local market is open every five days on days ending with a 2 or 7. Recently, the market opened a new arcade and a parking lot, becoming an exemplary case for merchants in other areas，and also identified as the international marketing traditional market by the Korean tourism organization in 2018.
