Suamgol

If you pass through the 6km tree tunnel that spans from Cheongu IC to downtown and cross over Musimcheon Stream, you will see Suamgol at the foot of the 353m tall Uamsan Mountain.
The dramas Cain and Abel, King of Baking, Kim Takgu and Glory Jane were taped here, making Suamgol famous across the nation. The shantytown was formed by refugees after the Korean War.
Only several years ago, the place was a shantytown. However, a public art project in 2007 began to embellish the town with paintings of flowers and heartwarming scenes, turning the area into a place of old memories.
An observatory at the top of the town overlooks the whole area of Cheongju.

It is fun to find mural paintings with a mural painting map and take photos. In addition, the nearby Café village's night view is so attractive that it becomes the citizens of Cheongju as well as the domestic and foreign visitors’ tourist attraction.
