Cheongju Museum of Art Collection Exhibition: Story for and about Nature
– The museum exhibits the collections of the Cheongju Museum of Art & the Art Bank, National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art under the theme of nature – Daechung Ho Museum of Art exhibits the collections from the Cheongju Museum of Art and the Art Bank, National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art under the title of “Story for and about Nature” until Sunday, February 18, 2024. The exhibition started on Tuesday, November 7 to alert the damages done on nature by industrialization and careless development and to raise awareness of the values of nature in the age of the climate crisis. The exhibition is about nature and consists of the works by 19 artists on the values of nature’s existence and the coexisting relationship between humans and animals in nature. It is divided into three parts. Part 1: It Was Always There explains the present situation in the Arctic Ocean and shows the video stressing the importance of nature to encourage visitors to think about the meaning of humans and nature, existence and time, and life and death. The next part is titled “On Its Own in Its Natural Way.” Visitors can feel the internal energy of nature impossible to be captured through eyes as they slowly look at the landscapes bearing materiality, dynamism, cyclicity, and temporality embedded in nature. Part 3: Humans and Animals, and Their Dynamic examines the relationship between humans and animals as coexisting entities living in nature, reminding the history of their coexistence. A spokesperson from the museum said, “Visitors will realize what nature means to us as they view nature from multiple perspectives through the exhibition,” asking the citizens’ support and interest in the current exhibition. |
