- SummarySeongan-gil in downtown Choengju is one of the busiest streets in Korea, like Myeong-dong in Seoul. The street is studded with the latest fashion items. About 100 years ago, this place was Cheongjueupseong Fortress. Monuments were erected on spots where the 4 gates of the fortress stood.
Detailed Information
With a history of more than 1500 years, Seongan-gil road is known as the Myeongdong of Cheongju. There are more than 300 shops including cosmetics, clothing, shoes and other merchants, as well as 3 large movie theaters. Seongan-gil road is a tourist attraction of the citizens of Cheongju as well as the domestic and foreign visitors.
It is a venue for colourful celebrations and cultural events, such as Cheongjueupseong Fortress Festival, Pork Street Celebrations, street dance, Cheongju Culture Night,etc.
