Maestro CHO Kyu Jin
  • Maestro CHO Kyu Jin has been profusely praised for his musical interpretation of the orchestral works of Beethoven, Brahms, Bruckner and Mahler. Maestro Cho’s ability to create an original sound shines ‎further while performing works of such Romantic composers as Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky and Sibelius. After his performance in the 2009 Korean Orchestra Festival, Cho received the following review:

  • Upon graduating from Seoul National University with a degree in musical composition, Cho went to Austria to study at the Universitaet Mozarteum Salzburg. He studied conducting with a great modern composer and conductor, Michael Gielen. His study continued at Universitaet fuer Musik und darstellend Kunst Wien, where he studied with Urlos Lavovich. Cho graduated with a Diploma and a magister artium in Austria.
  • Maestro Cho conducted the N.O Tonkuenstler Orchestra as well as the Wien Pro arte Orchestra in Wien Musikverein Grosser Saal. For the 100th anniversary celebration of the Korea-Austria Diplomatic Relations which was held in 2000 in Vienna, Austria, Cho conducted the “Koreanische Oesterreichsche Orchestra” at the ORF. While in Korea, Cho has given numerous musical performances with such noted orchestras as KBS Symphony Orchestra, Seoul City Philharmonic Orchestra, Korean Symphony Orchestra, Bucheon City Philharmonic Orchestra, Wonju City Philharmonic Orchestra, Prime Philharmonic Orchestra, Chungnam Philharmonic Orchestra, Gwacheon Philharmonic Orchestra, Cheongju Philharmonic Orchestra, New Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, Kunsan Philharmonic Orchestra, Pohang Philharmonic Orchestra, Jeonju City Philharmonic Orchestra and the Gwangju Symphony Orchestra.
  • Cho has also travelled to many countries, including Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria and Japan, in order to conduct orchestral scores, to attend conferences for conductors, and to record various performances at musical festivals.
  • In recent years, Cho has been praised for his conducting of the following performances: World Peace Culture Index Peace Concert for the President, Welcoming Concert for the Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Blue House, Congratulatory Performance for the Former President Kim Dae-Jung’s Reception of the Nobel Peace Prize, and the Concert in the Honor of the Delegations of the Third ASEM (Asia-Europe Meeting).
  • Maestro Cho served as the principal conductor for the Gwacheon Philharmonic Orchestra and for the Cheongju City Philharmonic. He is currently a tenured professor at Chungnam National University and is serving as the principle conductor of CNU Symphony Orchestra. Multiple reviews have stated that with his new vision and leadership Cho has made it possible for its orchestra to make an enormous and unparalleled progress in the school's sixty-year history. Cho is currently the director of the Korean Conductors Association.
