Title Cheongju City installs a ‘comprehensive tax payment kiosk’
Writer Taxation Policy Team
Subject Cheongju City installed five comprehensive tax payment kiosks in response to the non-face-to-face trends driven by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The city will operate the tax payment kiosks throughout the year starting on Jun 21.

The comprehensive tax payment kiosks refer to a system through which citizens can check and pay local taxes and non-tax incomes quickly and conveniently.

Citizens can make credit card payments to pay taxes directly through the kiosks without having to face a staff member. There are no commission fees for the service.

The comprehensive tax payment kiosks were installed in four vehicle registration offices with the highest number of visitors and at the Tax Collection Division on the first floor of the city office.

The kiosks offer fresh and pleasant screens to enhance user convenience, and the users can simply enter their resident registration numbers to view the personal tax history without having to carry the bills and enter payment information to make pay for the taxes.

The kiosks issue payment receipts immediately at the spot.

Users can also scan the QR code printed on the tax bill to check the history and make the payment.

An official from the Cheongju City Government said, “We will continue to work hard to perform tax administration that keeps up with the rapidly changing social trends driven by the prolongation of the COVID-19 pandemic, and provide various tax-related services.”
