There have been many eager visitors to the Geumbit Library opened on the 28th of last month.
On the 5th, 325 people borrowed a total of 1,135 books and 87 people daily were issued with Geumbit Library memberships. Weekends are especially crowded with many families visiting. Geumbit Library was designed with the concept as a space of complex culture by reflecting space innovation emphasized by Cheongju City Mayor Han Beomdeok, where all classes of citizens come to enjoy, rather than being an ordinary library for just reading materials. The Community Room located on the first floor is earning a huge response as it offers a locale for citizen voluntary meetings and used as a rest area. The Children's Room is enhancing children's interest in reading and creativity with the concept of PLAY library allowing children to read various books by providing cube type bookshelves, loft area and home type reading areas. Also, the library offers services for all visitors by designating special areas such as a music listening zone and youth zone in General Reading Room 1 on the second floor, reading stairs connecting between second and third floors, and VR experience and VOD zone on the third floor.
