○ Daecheong Ho Museum of Art, an annex of the Cheongju Museum of Art, announced that it would be providing time to view <2019 CMOA Daecheongho Competition Exhibition: Occupation> and operating <Let’s Occupy Daecheong Ho Museum of Art!>, where visitors can enjoy a wide range of experiences within the museum, for a total of 7 times during the exhibition period, from August 15 to October 13, on holidays and Culture Days (last Wednesday and Saturdays of the month).

○ <Let’s Occupy Daecheong Ho Museum of Art!> is a program linked to <2019 CMOA Daecheongho Competition Exhibition: Occupation>, which is currently being exhibited in the museum. The program is open to people of all ages, from children to adults, and is a workbook-type program in which visitors complete missions listed in the workbook given to them from the museum as they freely make their way through the exhibition. Through this, the program allows them to develop a better understanding of contemporary art, which may feel unfamiliar and difficult to grasp, and to see contemporary art from a new perspective.

○ The exhibition in question, <2019 CMOA Daecheongho Competition Exhibition: Occupation>, introduces the artistic worlds of 3 teams – Fictional Organic, Jaeeun Shin, and Soonhak Kwon – that were selected through the 2019 Daecheong Ho Museum of Art Competition. As such, the <Let’s Occupy Daecheong Ho Museum of Art!> modeled around the exhibition was designed to ensure that anyone could enjoy viewing the exhibitions of the 3 teams, each with their own unique characteristics and themes, in an easily accessible and entertaining manner.

○ <Let’s Occupy Daecheong Ho Museum of Art!> is composed of activities revolving around the works in each of the 3 exhibition rooms. Just like the <Fictional Organic> of Exhibition Room 1, which was inspired by an exploration of the Daecheongho Lake, visitors can imagine and draw the hidden stories of the Lake. Meanwhile, activities based on <Sink Sank Sunk> of Exhibition Room 2 allows them to visualize the sensation of touch through directional works of art that look hard on the outside but are soft to the touch inside. Finally, activities based on <Partitions> of Exhibition Room 3 take visitors on an investigative journey through the time and space of its exhibition room, so they can take records of it through photos and create a space occupied by them alone.

○ An official of Daecheong Ho Museum of Art stated, “As some visitors may find it difficult to comprehend the content of the competition exhibition, we prepared this program to ease their understanding. We hope that many citizens will participate and spend meaningful time in the museum through the <Let’s Occupy Daecheong Ho Museum of Art!> program.”

○ The program will be held a total of 7 times during the exhibition period, from August 15 to October 13, on holidays and Culture Days (last Wednesday and Saturdays of the month). Those wishing to participate in the education can make advance reservations through the website of Daecheong Ho Museum of Art or by phone. It is also possible to apply on-site at the Experience Booth located in the lobby of the museum and immediately take part in the experience, and the experience itself is open to all visitors to the museum.

○ To apply for the experience, one can make a reservation on the website for Daecheong Ho Museum of Art (www.cmoa.or.kr/daecheongho/index.do, must apply by phone when reserving for groups of 10 or more people), apply by phone (043.201.0912~3), or apply on-site, after which they can participate for free.
