Subject Cheongju to implement free influenza vaccination for the 2022-2023 season
- Free influenza vaccination for children (target for 2 doses) starting from Sep. 21
- Preparing for the simultaneous spread of influenza and COVID-19

- Cheongju Health Center will carry out the free influenza vaccination for the 2022-2023 season starting from children target for 2 doses on the 21st to prepare for the simultaneous spread of the influenza and COVID-19.

Children over the age of 6 months to 9 years old who have taken 0 or 1 dose of the vaccine are target for 2 doses, which should receive two doses with a four-week interval from Sep. 21, 2022 to Apr. 30, 2023.

The dates for free vaccination are as follows: from Oct. 5, children target for 1 dose (born between Jan. 1, 2009 and Aug. 31, 2022) and pregnant women; from Oct. 12, the elderly over the age of 75; from Oct. 17, persons aged 70–74; and from Oct. 20 to Dec. 31, persons aged 65–69.

In addition, Cheongju City will carry out free influenza vaccination for its residents aged 60–64 and the vulnerable class from Oct. 26 to Nov. 30.

Tetravalent vaccines will be administered, which can be received from health clinics and designated medical institutions in Cheongju. The list of designated medical institutions can be seen on the websites of health clinics or through the official vaccination website (https://nip.kcdc.go.kr).

An official from the health center said, “We are concerned about the simultaneous spread of COVID-19 and the influenza. We hope for active vaccination participation from citizen to prevent the spread of viruses.”
