Cheongju-si is supporting KRW 4.3 billion for 190 electric cars and 16 ultra-small electric cars.This is part of the project to improve air quality and reduce fine dust, and is a continuing project from last year to supply private electric cars, which are one of the major eco-friendly cars that produce zero emissions such as fine dusts and carbon dioxide. Those who are eligible to apply are citizens, companies, corporate bodies, and groups with addresses in Cheongju-si from December 31st, 2016 or prior to that date.To apply, bring the required documents and apply at the Environmental Policy Division of Cheongju-si from February 26th to March 7th. The City will select those who will receive subsidies by drawing lots on March 13th. The electric cars, which are eligible to receive subsidies, are the cars and ultra-small electric cars that are listed in the Electric Vehicle Integrated Portal (ev.or.kr) of the Ministry of Environment (MOE) as of the notification date (February 5th, 2018), and the electric cars will receive from KRW 18 million to KRW 22 million depending on the type, and ultra-small electric cars will receive KRW 9.5 million regardless of the car brand. The fuel cost for electric cars is very inexpensive compared to those of cars that run on fossil fuels, and electric cars have outstanding ride quality. Thus, Cheongju-si will supply even more public electric cars from this year to invigorate their use.
