- Dementia Early Detection and Dementia Prevention Education of
Cheongju City Public Health Center ...We Actually Visit to Resolve These! - Cheongju-si is actively promoting dementia early detection, dementia prevention education, and Dementia Assured Center to prevent dementia for citizens. The Dementia Assured Center visits senior citizen centers, welfare centers, and each and every household wherever the citizens desire, to conduct screening tests and dementia prevention education. Thus, instead of just sitting and waiting for the citizens to come, it actually visits to promote the Dementia Assured Center. Currently, at Sangdang Public Health Center Dementia Assured Center, of the 65,138 Sangdang residents who are 50 or older, 683 dementia patients are registered and being cared for.By providing the necessary services to dementia patients and their guardians, projects tailored for each stage are being implemented. Those necessary services include dementia consultations, screening tests, supporting close examinations depending on the patient‘s income level (120% or less of median income), supporting dementia treatment costs, operating cognitive rehabilitation programs for those with cognitive impairment, support for care and rehabilitation for those not rated, those who are grade B or C, or those who have not applied (day care centers and visit care service), providing hygiene products to dementia patients staying at their own homes, and operating the Brain Doctor Program. When the Dementia Assured Center officially opens, short-term rest areas and a dementia cafe will also be operated.
