A clean market is located in the large-scale apartment complex.

Unique and funny name, 'Wonmaru' is originated from its location Bunpyung-dong used to be called as 'Wonmaru' in the past. In Goryo and Chosun dynasty era, when the government officers went to the local business trip, they called government inns as 'Won,' and it is told that there was Injaewon or Jeongjinwon in Bunpyung-dong area.

Bunpyung-dong where Wonmaru market is located is the apartment concentrated area where over 80% of population lives in the apartments.

As there are many family unit customers who have the high potential for consumption, there are many famous restaurants in Wamaru market.

Since it is managed with indoor shops instead of street vendors unlike other markets, inside of the market is well arranged. Also, the market deals with small packed of side dishes and good quality of direct farming-products, so it is famous for many economic housewives to come in so frequently.

Wonmaru market was surprisingly nominated to be supported by the development program of the side street market in 2015.

Cheongju city transformed Wonmaru market into the friendly market with the market revitalization fund with 520 million won.
