- Cheongju City is going to open the cultureal forum of chopsticks of Korea, China and Japan, in 2nd~3rd next month, in Cheongju.
- Adopting the Joint Declaration for the chopstick culture, making public of new chopstick product of Cheongju

In 11th, November, last year, Cheongju city which received the attention by openning the chopstick Festival makes a new forum which makes East Asian as one with chopsticks, such as opening the forum and conference with experts for chopstick culture from Korea, China and Japan.

Cheongju city and and Cheongju Cultural Industry Promotion Foundation has announced that from 2nd, June to 3rd, experts of chopstick culture of Korea, China and Japan are going to open the forum and conferene, and develope a colorful cultural exchange events.

In Japan, 6 people will be attending from Japan, such as the Chairman of International chopsticks Council, Ura Thani Hyowoogo and Mitamura Arisumi professor in Tokyo Art University. And from China, 9 people will be attending such as the president of Shanghai chopsticks Promotion Association, shwi hwarong and Huahing jou, the Qingdao cultural researcher.

In Korea, 20 people including Lim Youngju, the chairman of Korea Intangible Cultural Heritage Exchange Foundation will be attending. Especially, Jung Seonhui, Korean-Japanese who is the designer of chopsticks of 100 million won which received attention in Chopsticks Festival Special Exhibition last year, and Chiljang, Kim Sung-ho who received attention by submitting the chopstick of 1m made in pearl varnished with lacquer.

In 2:00 pm, 2nd, the forum with the theme of 'chopsticks culture of Korea-China-Japan' will be opend at the 1st floor of the theater hall in cultural industrial district.
Prior to the forum, the declaration of the content that three countries of Korea-China-Japan will cooperate for the development chopstick culture continuously and specialize it into the life culture resources will be adopted and presented.

In the forum, Lim Youngju who is the Chairman of Intangible Cultural Exchange Association of Korea and Byeon Gwangseop, the overall coordinator of the East Asian cultural cities will make a presentation, and Ura Thani Hyowoogo of International chopsticks Council, and shwi hwarong of Shanghai chopsticks Promotion Association will make a presentation.

Along with this, bundi trees(pepper tree) chopsticks which Cheongju city is developing,
spoon made with lacquered mother-of-pearl and Bangjja Yugi spoon are exposed, and we will have the time for the cultural exchange with the performing group acting in Cheongju.

In succession, in the morning in 3rd, expertrs of three countries Korea-China-Japan will gather in the conference roon in the 3rd floor of cultural industrial district and discuss the ongoing exchanges and cooperation of chopstick culture.

In particular, in this 11th, November, the collaborative plan of 2016 Chopsticks Festival, which is going to be held in Cheongju, and the way for the joint registration of chopstick culture for UNESCO world cultural heritage will be discussed chopsticks culture.

Korea-China-Japan chopstick culture forum is executed with the support of Culture Sports Tourism Division for continuing the result of the chopstick festival which was held in last uear, and making East Asian cultural community.

Cheongju city is going to strengthen the solidarity between groups of institution for the culture of chopsticks of Korea-China-Japan and make the culture of chopsticks which is specialized only in Cheongju.

Lee, Seung-hoon, the mayer of Cheongju said "Chopsticks culture forum is opened as a part of the strategy for reviving the value of Cheongju, which is the city of life and culture and excavating the cultural contents specialized only in Cheongju", and he said, "Development the cultural product of chopsticks will contribute for creating jobs and activating the regional economy, and we will develop the task of spreading the main content to the world, such as the International Festival of chopsticks".
