Title Cheongju Tap Water Production Process 'Good', Jibuk Purification Plant, Where People from Overseas Visit

Cheongju-si announced that approximately 20 people composed of the engineers of the Algeria Water Resources Corporation and the officials of the Koncella Waterworks Bureau visited the Jibuk Purification Plant to experience the whole process of producing and supplying tap water.

The Algerian engineers and civil servants visited the central monitoring room, the laboratory, and the water treatment facility of the Jibuk Purification Plant for about 1 hour and 30 minutes.

In particular, they showed a keen interest in the system to remotely monitor and control the facilities in the central monitoring room, and said that in the future, they would consider introducing a similar automatic control system in Algeria.

On May 4th, 2016 with a project expense of KRW 124 billion, the Jibuk Purification Plant was completed on a total area of 214,474㎡, with state-of-the-art facilities including a purification facility capable of processing 125,000 tons per day, a management building, a central monitoring room, a drug feeding facility, a rapid filtration facility, a transport pump, and a spin-dryer. The plant produces 95,000 tons of tap water per day and supplies it to the citizens of Cheongju.

In addition, on June 14th, 2017, the water purification plant was also the first in the nation's water supply sector to acquire the "Educational Donation for Career Experience" of the Minister of Education.
