- Conducting event promotions targeting foreign FITs (Free Independent Tourists), including tourist attractions, accommodations, shopping, and dining experiences -

On the 11th, Cheongju signed a public-private partnership agreement with seven organizations at the temporary city hall’s Jikji Room to revitalize the tourism industry.

The signing ceremony was attended by Cheongju Mayor Lee Beom-seog, representatives from the Korea Tourism Organization’s Sejong-Chungbuk branch, Cheongju Tourism Conference, Aero K, Hyundai Department Store Chungcheong Branch, Grand Plaza Hotel, Gloucester Hotel, and J-One Hotel.

The main goal of this agreement is to attract more foreign FITs and further invigorate the local tourism industry.

Cheongju and the Korea Tourism Organization’s Sejong-Chungbuk branch plan to offer discounts on city tours, accommodation, shopping, and dining for foreign FITs who arrive at Cheongju International Airport via Aero K and stay at cooperating hotels.

Consequently, foreign FITs can enjoy various discounts and receive a welcome kit from the Korea Tourism Organization at Cheongju City Tour, Cheongnamdae Presidential Vila, Munui Cultural Heritage Complex, Unbo’s House, Korean Craft Museum, GOODSYOU, Cheongju Specialty Product Exhibition and Sales Center, Hyundai Department Store Chungcheong Branch, Grand Plaza Hotel, Gloucester Hotel, J-One Hotel, Ohsodam, Kkotdwaeji Fresh Grilled Pork Belly, Moguchon Wellbing Maeul, Daega, and Gyeonghwa Chinese Restaurant.

Cheongju plans to improve transportation convenience for foreign FITs by utilizing city tour buses to enhance accessibility to tourist sites, ensuring a pleasant and comfortable visit to Cheongju.

A city official of Cheongju said, "We plan to lay the foundation for an international tourism city through cooperation with Cheongju’s excellent tourism resources and various sectors such as aviation, accommodation, shopping, and dining. We will strive to make Cheongju a fun city that foreign tourists will enjoy through special events and experiences and will want to revisit."
