Cheongju Installs Lights for Night Sceneries along Myeongam Resort Trails
– The Cheongju City Night Scenery Theme Park Construction Project starts at Myeongam Resort – On Mar. 29, Cheongju City announced that they would install lights along the deck trails (670-meter-long barrier-free trails) built around the waters of Myeongam Resort, Sangdang-gu. Through this construction, the city will make Myeongam Resort, one of the most popular urban recreational facilities in Cheongju, a night attraction which both citizens and tourists can enjoy even at night. They will install 540 anti-glare floor lights along the deck trails and 59 flood lights in dark places next to trees and shrubs so that visitors can enjoy the beautiful Myeongam Resort safely even at night. A total of KRW 100 million will be invested in this project. Construction work will begin in April and be completed in May 2024. A city official of Cheongju said, “Starting with Myeongam Resort, we will promote night scenery projects in tourist attractions, including major parks and cultural heritages,” adding, “We will try our best to build night scenery attractions to be used in various ways for the leisure of citizens and long-stay tourism.” The installation work is a part of the Cheongju Night Scenery Theme Park Construction Project, which aims to make beautiful night scenery tourist attractions. The city will invest a total of KRW 1.9 billion For the Cheongju Night Scenery Themed Park Construction Project, focusing on five major tourist attractions in Cheongju (Sangdangsanseong Fortress, Myeongam Resort, Jungang Park, Uncheon Neighborhood Park, and Munam Ecological Park). Lights will be installed in Jungang Park and Uncheon Neighborhood Park in 2025 and in Munam Ecological Park in 2026, with a selected light theme suitable for each attraction. |
