Title Cheongju Museum of Art to Host the 2023 Media Art Exhibition
Writer Cheongju
Subject - Reflections on climate and the environment -

The Cheongju Museum of Art announced that it will host the media art exhibition titled "I feel yellow red brown and blue: A Four Seasons Wallpaper (pilot)" at the museum's Immersive Gallery on the first floor until November 19.

The exhibition is a part of the museum's contemporary art project "Architecture Becomes Art" containing thoughts about the earth, the space we live in.

In particular, it draws attention to the phenomenon of rapidly changing climate due to global warming, and metaphorically conveys a warning about the survival of humanity.

Artist Bae Jung-wan has been contemplating the environment and space through architectural engineering. His new work "I feel yellow red brown and blue: A Four Seasons Wallpaper (pilot)" (2023) is his message to modern people living in the era of climate crisis.

The colors yellow, red, brown and blue in the title of the exhibition are the colors of nature that can clearly distinguish weather and seasons, and act as a tool to recognize the change of seasons.

The artist emphasizes that national boundaries are irrelevant to the changes in nature and assumes that in the future, we may only be able to capture the changes in nature through wallpapers of the four seasons projected on a screen.

Lee Sang-bong, director of the Cheongju Museum of Art, said, "Climate change has become a problem faced by humanity. I hope that the exhibition serves as an opportunity for visitors to ask themselves what we can do about climate change and what we can do to observe the vivid and beautiful changes of the seasons."
