Cheongju opens a swimming pool free of charge for children aged between three and nine, from Jul. 19 to Aug. 19 at Whale Waterpark, inside of the newly built Saengmyeong Nuri Park (511-1 Byeongji, Jujung-dong, Cheongwong-gu).
Whale Waterpark at Saengmyeong Nuri Park is the first water playground in Cheongju and is equipped with shower rooms and rest areas for the citizens’ convenience. The opening hours are between 10 AM and 5:30 PM, from Tuesday to Sunday and each session lasts for two hours (10 AM-12 PM/ 1 PM-3 PM/ 3:30 PM-5:30 PM). It is closed on Monday for cleaning and water management. Visitors can enter the waterpark on a first-come, first-served basis and aqua shoes are recommended for safety. The waterpark can accommodate up to 100 people for each session and 300 people in total per day. The facility will be strictly managed according to the standards for water playground facilities and qualified lifeguards and medical staff who completed safety training programs will be posted, to protect the safety of infants and children who use the facility. “We will do our best to help citizens spend a pleasant time with their family at Saengmyeong Nuri Park's newly built in urban area during the hot summer days and make it a place citizens continue visiting,” said a city official. |
