The Cheongju City Government launches the Kkomjirak Community Daycare Project this year.
Through the Kkomjirak Community Daycare Project, the Cheongju City Government will select four apartment community libraries and provides 96-hour community daycare program instructor and operation expenses per year. The Cheongju City Government selected four apartment complexes this year for the Kkomjirak Community Daycare Project: Sannam Quindum, Oksan Heungdeok Kolon Hanulche, Ochang Buyeong Sarangeuro 8-danji (Deobuleo Gachi), and Seonghwa 5-danji (Palette). The project aims to raise children together with the community and reduce care deficit by providing general and emergency childcare services for children raised by grandparents and children from double-income families. An official at the Cheongju City Government said, “Through the Kkomjirak project, residents will be able to share child rearing information, and their kids will read books and play together after school. We hope this project makes both mothers and children happy.” The Cheongju City Government operated this project for seven apartment complex libraries including Gaesin Jugong 1-danji (Geulmaru Community Library) from 2019 to 2020. A total of 438 residents participated in 41 programs. |
