Cheongju city expands the scope of inter-library services to small libraries within the region.

Inter-library service is a service whereby a user of one library can request and borrow materials that are owned by another library when they are not available at the library that he/she usually use. This service allow a user to return books from another library to its nearby library as well.

The service is offered at small libraries located in areas where there is no nearby public library including Eco Nature Library Bomnun (Nangseong-myeon), Bongmyeong Small Library (Bongmyeong 1(il)-dong), Gulmaru Small Library (Gaesin-dong), and Toad Ecological Library (Sannam-dong).

Especially, the Gulmaru Small Library in the GaesinJugong1danji Apt. is expected to increase convenience for residents in nearby areas as the library newly joins the service this year. And the book delivery will be expanded from twice a week to five times a week, shortening the delivery time.

A library official said, “We will work with small libraries in underprivileged areas of public library services so that all citizens can enjoy the benefits of reading culture. We appreciate the great effort of small libraries that are participating in the inter-library service and we will plan for various reading culture projects with them for the continuous cooperative relationship.”

For more information on the use of inter-library service, visit the library website (https://library.cheongju.go.kr).
