Family welfare platform “Family Center” will be opening in Cheongju city.
Cheongju-si began the construction of “Cheongju Family Center” on the 9th with a budget of KRW 1.2 million. It will be utilized as a place for supporting services and exchanging information. Cheongju-si is promoting the building of this family center to actively cope with various types of welfare demands that increase daily and establish a base for common family welfare, The construction of a four-story building is scheduled to be completed in December 2021 with a gross area of 3718.28 m2 at 94-9, Mochung-dong, Seowon-gu. The first floor will be used as a parking lot due to the site conditions and the second floor will have an office space, a shared childcare center, and a counseling room and a Korean language class for the early settlement of multicultural families. The third floor is composed of a childcare office for family care, a youth afterschool academy office, and an auditorium to provide a space for family communication and exchange. The fourth floor will have a cafeteria for visitors and trainees and a cooking class to be used as a space for exchanges between immigrant women. The city gathered opinions from local residents and reflected the user-oriented demands through communication with related departments and residing institutions.
