Cheongju-si’s preparation to newly build House in the Forest in Oakhwa Natural Recreation Forest going smoothly.
By this June, Cheongju-si is going to newly build House in the Forest in Oakhwa Natural Recreation Forest for visitors. Starting in March, Cheongju-si has invested KRW 890 million to newly build House in the Forest in four locations inside Oakhwa Natural Recreation Forest, which is located in Unam-ri, Miwon. The House in the Forest first opened in 1999, and underwent reconstructive work in 2017 when old lodging houses were removed and remodeled. However, the reconstructive work on four lodging houses including Pine Tree and Cherry Tree was left incomplete. For smooth operation of the new construction project, the city successfully conducted public meetings and on-site inspections in different areas (architecture, electricity, communications, and construction fields). The city plans to place tight supervision around the construction in order to ensure safety of the recreational facilities. A city spokesperson said, “Through the new construction of House in the Forest, we hope to provide even more pleasant and comfortable recreational facilities to all visitors to Oakhwa Natural Recreation Forest.” Meanwhile, Oakhwa Natural Recreation Forest has been closed since last month in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19. ▶Inquiries: Forest Recreation Team, Forest Management Department, Cheongju City Hall (☎+82-43-201-2343) |
