- The city exploring new value from the old, valuable Cheongju! - The rough sketch of Cheongju-si urban restoration, the Cheongju-si urban restoration strategical plan obtained final approval last 6.
The plan contains fundamental planning of urban restoration for next 10 years in the vision of "the city exploring new value from the old, valuable Cheongju". This plan is to revive declining original downtown to sustainable and systematic downtown. For this plan, the population society, industry, economy, physical environment were analyzed, estimated local decline and divided Chegonju-si into 5 regions; central, East, West, South, North. The city established customized urban restoration plan utilized tangible and intangible capital such as nature and tourism resources with local characteristics for each region. Especially, this strategical plan is first plan established in integrated Cheongju, so the city listened to the voice of residents by hosting individual visiting briefings to each eup, myeon and dong since last year. Also, the plan was established based on participation of residents building governance system focusing on running urban restoration college and urban restoration support center connecting city and residents. Through review of resident hearing, city council earing and provincial council examination, the plan was finally approved. Also, on this strategical planning, the 4 regions(Naedoek․Wooam-dong, Seongan-dong, Soogok-dong, Uncheon․Shinbong-dong) were selected as urban restoration activation for actual projects of urban restoration, and the project details will be proceeded through the public participation of urban restoration project of Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in order. Cheongju-si authority said "This establishment of urban restoration strategy plan will prevent decline of original downtown due to dispersion of urban development, and prepare basis of balanced urban development, and the city will put its best effort to be selected to public participation of urban restoration project of Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport next year, ▶ Inquiry : Urban restoration division, Urban restoration team(☎043-201-2461) |
