- Cheongju city contracting the Business Agreement with International Robot Olympiad Committee and Cheongju University in the reception room at 11:30, 2nd(Thurs) Cheongju City is dreaming of leaping once again to lead robots for national future strategy business, Following bio and aviation maintenance industry(MRO). Cheongju city made a contract with International Robot Olympiad Committee and Cheongju University for the successful opening of International Robot Olympiad competition at the reception room of the city hall in 2nd(Thurs). In the signing ceremony day, Lee, Seung-hoon, the mayer of Cheongju, Kim Jonghwan, the chairman of international Robot Olympiad and Kim Byeonggi, the president of Cheongju University attended. This agreement was promoted for International Robot Olympiad Korean competition, middle south preliminary round in 2016, main tournament in future, World Championships and businesses associated with robots. In addition, three institutions promised generous support for enhancing the interest of the region for robot which is the future national strategies and new growth power industries and booming up the robot contents for each other. Meanwhile, International Robot Olympiad which celebrated the 18th in this year was founded by Chairman Prof. Kim Jonghwan (KAIST), and it is the world's tournament which 10,000 students compete with each other in 13 different sports games such as Robot Gathering every year. The 2016, preliminary round for the South Central of Korea International Robot Olympiad Competition is held in Gymnasium in Cheongju University for 7 days from 25th, July to 31th July.
