- Through 24-hour surveillance monitoring of CCTV Integrated Control Center - Cheongju-si's CCTV Integrated Control Center is playing a pivotal policing role within the jurisdiction of the police station by arresting a wanted criminal. On July 31, around 9:27 am, a suspect vehicle registered in the control center was filmed on automobile number plate recognition CCTV (Bound for Sintanji-Nami), which was expeditiously reported to a stationed police officer of CCTV Integrated Control Center by a real-time control monitor. The stationed police officer immediately notified this to Chungbuk Provincial Police Agency 112 and the regional investigation unit, and the authorities rushed to the spot and arrested a wanted criminal on the road before Cheongju Penitentiary around 9:50 am. The police will present appreciation plaque to the monitor for providing critical pieces of information as the police was on the trail of the suspected vehicle for months to round up the suspect. In Cheongju-si's CCTV Integrated Control Center, 3 police officers and 20 monitors have been monitoring the footages of CCTV cameras on 24-hour watch in three shifts for child safety and public security. Furthermore, since the re-opening of the center in February, with intelligent control system and increased criminal investigation information, the center has been instrumental in preventing crimes and arresting criminals within the jurisdiction of Cheongju police station.
