Vice Mayor of Sister City Wuhan City Visited Cheongju City
- Company Presentations, Cheongju City Enterprisers Meetings and Economic Cooperation MOU are Planned - Cheongju City's sister city Wuhan City officials and Chinese enterpriser deligation (vice mayor Lushai as its leader) will visit Cheongju City and stay two days (April the 5th and 6th) to solidify the friendship of two sister cities and activate economic exchange. With Lushai, vice mayor of Wuhan City, as its leader of the delegation, 15 important persons including chairman of Wuhan Businessmen's Association, Quing Fahren, businessmen and their attendants will visit Cheongju City. The delegation is scheduled to tour Cheongju City Hal and Cheongju Early Printing Museum; make company presentations; participate in Cheongju City enterprisers meeting and sign on economic cooperation MOU; and deliver appreciation plaque to man of merit for Cheongju City- Wuhan City exchange. This visit is arranged in form of a return visit for the acting delegation of Cheongju City that visited Wuhan City last December (4 nights and 5 days from December the 22nd to 26th) in an effort to activate the change of the two cities. This return visit is to deepen the discussion and specify outcome of the previous visit from Cheongju City. Wuhan City is a center of Hubei, China. The city has 11 million population and various advanced industries including steel, chemicals and automobile. Many Korean businesses such as SK Chemicals Co. and LS Industrial System Co. are doing business in the city. In addition, Wuhan City is being paid a keen attention domestically as one of the cities to benefit from the policies of Chinese government on advancement of industry structure, economic vitalization through domestic economic boosting and fostering inland foothold cities. Particularly, since it is expected that the city will consume more cosmetic and household goods due to the improvement of living environment and living standard, small and medium companies in the region will be able to expand sales market to considerable extent. Since October the 29th, 2000 when Cheongju City was tied with Wuhan City for sisterhood, the two cities have actively exchanged culture, arts and youth activities and many other sectors.
