- 300 million Won committed to improving the landscape of over 90 city parks -

The city of Cheongju launches an overhaul of the landscape in its parks. Throughout the year, the city will invest 300 million Won to implement a plan to refine the forestry of its city parks. Community parks, children’s parks, green belts, roadside plants and traffic islands counting a total of 90 sites will be the subject of this overhaul and a total of 4500 trees will be newly planted.
The city will remove trees that had been planted too densely or those that are dying or posing danger to residential areas, trim branches that block the view of closed circuit TVs or street lights and plant more trees that improve the landscape.

This project is expected to make the overall atmosphere of the parks brighter, while improving the living environment for the trees to grow more healthily. Team leader Kim Donghwan of the department of park management commented that “the urban landscaping projects will continue over the longer term in order to make the park environments safer and more pleasant.”
