Vehicle Transfer Registration

Application period

• Sale : Within 15 days from the date of full payment.
• Gift : Within 20 days from the date the gift becomes legally effective.
• Inheritance : Within 6 months from the end of the month in which the inheritance is commenced. (date of death)
  * In case of late application, KRW 100,000 for delay up to 10 days / Additional KRW 10,000 per day for each day / Maximum penalty: KRW 500,000.

Transferee visits only	Transferor	- Personal Seal Certificate or Identity Verification document for vehicle transfer. - Certificate of Transfer with transferor’s seal affixed. ※ If an Identity Verification Document for vehicle transfer is submitted, the seal on the Certificate of Transfer may be replaced with a handwritten signature using the same writing instrument. - Vehicle Registration Certificate

Please check before visiting

• Only foreign nationals who have completed domestic residence registration.
• Compulsory (liability) Insurance must be registered under the transferee’s name
• Any outstanding taxes, penalties, or fines must be fully paid
• Fee related to acquisition tax and public bonds may arises. (public bonds must be paid in cash only)

Vehicle Change Registration

• When the registered information of the vehicle or the personal details of the owner have changed.

Application Period

• Within 30 days from the date the change occurs.
  * Late application Penalty : KRW 20,000 for delays up to 90 days / Additional KRW 10,000 every 3 days after90 days / Maximum penalty: KRW 300,000
